International Traffic in Arms Regulations:  ITAR     (back to top)

Kirk & Huth, P.C. has become versed and experienced in a new and expanding area of law known as International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR").  ITAR matters involve laws surrounding the control of the permanent and temporary export and temporary import of defense articles and services.   Generally governed by 22 U.S.C. 2778 of the Arms Export Control Act ("AECA"), issues in this area of law are generally related to information and material pertaining to defense and military related technologies.  The AECA, among these other requirements and authorities, provides for the promulgation of implementing regulations.  This area of law can also involve several governmental agencies, regulating matters such as who has access to information, how information is disseminated, etc.

These matters have the potential to impact several other practice areas, such as import/export, constitutional law and associated criminal penalties.  Our attorneys are ready to assist you in this area of law and its many related issues.
